The Yankees Are Back Dont You Think?
the 26 time world champs have the best rotation and line up in baseball. 2009 will be number 27 for us.

yeah thare good might get to the world series
This is asked a lot, so I’ll just copy and paste the answer I gave yesterday:
Well, let’s slow down and look more closely at the Yankees offseason
1. Lose a 20-game winner to retirement
2. Sign a 20-game winner as a free agent.
That’s a push.
3. Sign an injury plagued starter with decent, but not great, stuff (AJ). Maybe gain two wins over the player(s) he is replacing
4. Lose Abreu, Giambi. So far no replacement.
5. Don’t sign a catcher, keep aging, injury plagued incumbent
6. A-Rod, Jeter, Rivera, Damon and Matsui are all another year older
7. Robinson Cano is still at second.
Add it all up, the Yankees are still competitive, perhaps slightly improved over last year. But slightly improved takes them from 89 wins to perhaps 91 or 92. It will be another three-way race for the AL East where two of the teams make the playoffs. Even odds the Yankees miss out, even with CC.
Maybe they are back in 2nd or 3rd again in the division. I still see Boston ahead of NY and even possibly TB again as well. I don’t think that you go out and spend all the cash that NY has and automatically come out on top. Remember, there are 162 + games to win it and “be back”. Don’t count out 1/3rd to half of the AL.
best rotation in baseball? is that a joke sabathia is a good pitcher solid but not a great pitcher. aj burnett hurst 12 times in 5 years enough said. come on the red sox have the best rotation in the al east
how’s carl pavano doing by the way? best rotation i got a good laugh out of that one!
They were never gone. They just can’t make it out of the first round of the playoffs.Placing an All-Star at every position doesn’t guarantee you the ring. Just ask the free agents signed in the last 8 years on the NYY.
Back? Where did they go?
Weren’t Yankee fans saying that LAST year was gonna be #27 because of the “amazing line up and great rotation”?
It’s always nice to be positive, I suppose.
Where’d the Yankees go last year? I swear to god they were in New York.
Best lineup? Negative young grasshopper. Not even close.
They need another big bat before they are real playoff contenders. Not sold on the team with the current lineup!
yes love the yankees
they had an impressive team last year too…and they flopped…sorry to break it to you,but 2009 is not nuber 27
Did they go somewhere?
they havent played yet
