All Senators have PRIVATE health insurance, from companies like Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Don’t yall libs remember Hillary and Obama campaigning that the common folk should have health care as good as government officials get? Well, they get PRIVATE health insurance. But now … only a public options is the best. Talk about hypocrites.
Perhaps it’s because they see the financial trouble Medicare is in. Every single government funded system that is in place is failing miserably. The problem with doing away with Medicare at this point would be that all those who have been paying into it for most of their working life would get totally screwed. Medicare is in no way comparable to a government run health care system but the same problems such as major corruption and fraud would also run rampant for a gov. run health care system but on a much larger scale.

Medicare is for all of us AFTER we reach 65. We pay into it now. And, we collect later.
You Libs are trying to steal from the system. You want to hardly pay in now and collect it now.
But, personally, I would rather ditch Medicare and have everyone save for their own care when they get old. But, Dems would never let us get rid of it. So, let’s not steal from it. Wait until you’re 65. Play by the rules like everyone else. It will be there for you. But, don’t try to steal from our elderly parents and grandparents. Do you duty. Help fund it. Then enjoy it after you’re 65 like every one else who plays fair.
Sadly, Dems won’t let us opt out of social security and medicare and support ourselves. They want us to support them.
You must not be familiar with Medicare. People have no choice about whether or not they’re on Medicare, it’s the law for all seniors. There is no insurance for seniors other than Medicare (with private supplemental ins).
I’m sure they’re not happy about it either, but that’s the law. I’m sure all these people would prefer a totally private insurance plan, and could afford it, but it’s not their choice.
